Carpark Upgrade Waterson Way
Whitsunday Regional Council will be upgrading the overflow carpark on Waterson Way, installing a large gravel surface that will allow up to 226 cars to park in the area.
The new carpark area will be accessed by the Waterson Way and Raintree Place roundabout, near the Airlie Creek walking track.
The upgrade will work in two stages.
The first stage of careers has begun and will take approximately two weeks to complete. During this time, you are advised to use the existing carpark area near the Woolworths carpark.
The second stage will begin from Monday 30 August and is expected to be completed within a fortnight, weather permitting. During this stage of works, access to parking will be from the Waterson Way roundabout.
The new carpark will be approximately 50m x 100m and include more than 3,500 m2 of gravel.
Please note that the maximum time permitted in the overflow carpark is five days unless otherwise approved by Council. In addition, it was pointed out that camping is not allowed.
